High School baseball previews coming soon

High school baseball season officially kicked off this week in Illinois with practice beginning this past Monday. Of course, early baseball practice in Illinois typically does not include grass, dirt, and sunshine, but rather hardwood and gymnasium lighting. One learns quickly to avoid the ricochet off the concrete wall.

With the onset of the 2013 season comes CornbeltBaseball.com’s first comprehensive look at all of our 29 covered high school teams. From Tremont to Blue Ridge and Flanagan to Hartem, we’ll have rundowns on all the teams, players, and coaches from the epicenter of baseball in Illinois.

Beginning next week, just prior to the official (theoretical!) opening day for games in the Illinois High School Association, we’ll publish one or two previews a day, beginning with the five inter-city teams in Bloomington-Normal.
