Heartland’s Bloomfield commits to North Park
Heartland Community College head coach and athletic director, Nate Metzger has announced that sophomore infielder Evan Bloomfield (Frankfort, Illinois / Lincoln-Way East High School) has committed to play baseball at North Park University for the 2014-15 season. North Park competes in NCAA Division 3 and the CCIW. Ninth year head coach, Luke Johnson, has turned the 1-39 CCIW basement dwelling club of 2005 into a ranked national level program, winning back to back CCIW championships in 2011 and 2012, and participating in the NCAA D3 tournament.
Bloomfield is the 12th Hawk from this year’s sophomore class to sign with a four-year school.

Over Heartland baseball’s six year history, 92 of 103 Sophomores have moved on to play baseball at the four-year level, including 65 who have moved on to the NCAA Division 1 level.
Heartland has gone 282-65 in its 6 year history while being nationally ranked each year and reaching the NJCAA D-2 World Series the last three years, finishing fourth in 2013 and third in 2012.
Heartland Baseball is currently 42-11 and ranked sixth in the country heading into the Region 24 tournament this weekend.
